BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
Q: What are the age requirements for kids to get pierced?

Piercing Requirements for Minors
Please verify your child's eligibility for piercing with Agave in Bloom before booking, as piercing fees are to hold the hour appointment slot & may not be refunded if your child is too young or does not follow through with the piercings.

Valid photo ID for the accompanying parent/guardian is required.

0-2 years of age are not eligible to receive piercings at Agave in Bloom. Waiting until age 3 means they are less likely to develop an infection, more likely to heal properly, and to remain correctly placed as the child grows.

3-11 years of age are eligible for piercings at Agave in Bloom only if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (photo ID or documentation of guardianship required). Children under the age of 12 are eligible for lobe piercings only.

12-13 years of age are eligible to receive lobe and cartilage piercings at Agave in Bloom. If you are unsure of what qualifies, please contact us before booking an appointment. Nostril and septum are limited to 13 years and up.

14-17 years of age are eligible to receive navel and lip piercings in addition to lobe and cartilage piercings. Minors aged 16 and up are eligible for tongue piercings. Minors are not eligible to receive nipple, micro dermal, or genital piercings, regardless of parental/guardian release or permission.

If your child is nervous about piercing services, please schedule a 15 minute “Meet the Piercer” appointment with our studio. We want to ensure your child (and you) are completely comfortable with our studio, our piercers, our jewelry options, and our pricing.

Our goal is to make your child's first piercing experience as painless and rewarding as possible!

DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT
Q: Can I bring my own jewelry for piercing?

That's a hard no.

Oregon law requires all piercing jewelry to be handled with concern and care for your wellbeing.

Due to quality control, sterilization laws, sizing, and liability concerns, we are unable to use any used jewelry for initial piercings.

Thankfully, we maintain a highly curated and extensive collection of quality, ethically sourced jewelry that accommodates many price ranges.

PIERCING AFTERCARE
Q: How long will my piercing take to heal?

These are general estimates, as each will depend on your particular body type and healing time frames. Children will also heal at a slower rate, as they have a harder time keeping their piercings clean/undisturbed.

Please do not change your jewelry without receiving an "all clear" from your piercer. Downsizing your posts is also important once the piercing is healed.

It is also tempting to ask your friends or to Google cleaning and healing advice. Please do not do this. Trust the guidance from your piercer and if you have concerns, call the studio.

ONLINE ORDERING
Q: What should I know before ordering?

All sales are final. Oregon law prohibits studios from accepting jewelry returns once the item has left our studio. Please carefully read all jewelry descriptions before purchasing.

If you are unsure of the sizing needed, please contact our studio for assistance prior to purchasing. Almost ALL of our jewelry does not come with the post required for installation, which needs to be included in your purchase for a nominal fee.

Thanks to our high standards in partnership with jewelry manufacturers, all jewelry sold by Agave in Bloom comes with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty that covers defects. All repairs will be handled directly with the manufacturer (not through Agave in Bloom).
